Introducing C2i’s new cutting-edge tool: the NanoString nCounter Detection Platform

The research team at C2i is excited to announce the acquisition of the state-of-the-art NanoString nCounter Detection Platform, a unique and cutting-edge technology set to revolutionize the way we approach high-throughput research on RNA transcriptional levels, providing researchers with unprecedented insights into the complex world of biological processes.

The NanoString nCounter Detection Platform is a game-changer in the field of biopharmaceutical research. Unlike traditional methods such as gene chips and RNA sequencing, which can generate vast amounts of data that are time-consuming to analyze, this innovative technology offers a more streamlined and efficient approach. The NanoString system directly detects and counts individual mRNA transcripts, delivering high accuracy, sensitivity, and multiple target detection capabilities all in a single tube.

One of the key advantages of the NanoString platform is its ability to work with a wide range of sample types, including Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded (FFPE) tissue samples, cell lysates, and even whole blood – without the need for complex RNA extraction and purification processes. This versatility allows researchers to explore a diverse range of biological samples, opening up new avenues for groundbreaking discoveries.

The applications of the NanoString nCounter Detection Platform are truly expansive. From validating high-throughput gene expression results and conducting gene expression profiling studies to delving into gene regulatory networks and advancing clinical disease molecular classification, diagnosis, and prognosis, this technology is a powerful tool in the hands of our research team.

We are excited to see the transformative impact it will have on our research endeavors, particularly for the development of the Healthy Human Global Project (HHGP). C2i is applying the unique technology to the transcriptomic study of the Healthy Human Global Project – Hong Kong for more than 16000 samples to explore the missing pictures of the domain in immune response. The installation of the NanoString nCounter Detection Platform at C2i marks a significant milestone in our commitment to staying at the forefront research.
