1,000 Participants: A New Milestone Reached For HHGP-Hong Kong

We are thrilled to announce that we have achieved a significant milestone of the Healthy Human Global Project - Hong Kong with the recruitment of 1,000 participants in the cohort.

C2i's objective of recruiting 1,000 participants for the cohort of its Healthy Human Global Project - Hong Kong (HHGP-Hong Kong) has been achieved, allowing us to investigate further and create the next generation of public health interventions.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to our esteemed collaborators. This recruitment phase is the fruit of a collective effort with FAMILY Cohort (HKUMed), the Institut Pasteur, the HKU Centre for Sport and Exercise, HKU Health System and HKU Estates Office. And of course, we express our sincerest thanks to all the volunteers that came to the HKU C2i Research Clinic the past year.

By establishing a healthy reference population cohort of 1,000 people locally, C2i will be able to determine a healthy immune system beyond Hong Kong and inform health parameters for Asian populations at large.” Professor Leo Poon, Managing Director of the Centre for Immunology & Infection.

“I am really happy and excited to see that C2i has managed to recruit this cohort, and that the project is already successful. Congratulations to the team and to all collaborators.” Professor CS Lau, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, HKU.

Recruiting this cohort is just the beginning of the Healthy Human Global Project – Hong Kong, the next phase is already under way including the analysis of the very rich datasets collected. We are looking forward to sharing our findings, so make sure to follow C2i’s activity to stay up to date with our groundbreaking research projects!
